Finn, Marco, and Twix have spent many months getting to know one another, then the fateful night of their mating comes and their world is shaken to it’s very core. The truth of Twix’s heritage is revealed, sending shockwaves throughout the city of Crystal and all its inhabitants. New allies are found, old friends are reunited, and new enemies are on the prowl. As leaders, Illan and Justice must bring all the dragon and phoenix together to take a stand to protect all of the shifter world, and keep everyone they love safe. Description: This devotional book for teachers tackles many of the issues and struggles educators face today. Scott Petznick draws on twenty-one years of experience as an elementary school teacher to share stories, lessons learned, and faith-based observations that challenge you to look at the teaching profession in a new way. As you read, you’ll consider questions such as: Why did you decide to become a teacher? How do you feel about teaching now versus when you started? Do you really want to continue as a teacher? What does it mean to give a student a blank slate? While meant for teachers, this book is a great resource for parents, mentors, or anyone with youngsters or young adults in their life. The lessons can be applied to whatever occupation you have to find meaning and thrive. Consider big questions and re-evaluate why and how you teach—or why you do whatever you do. By looking at your occupation with a new perspective, you’ll be inspired to do an even better job ... or decide to move on.

Description: “If anyone would come after me let him deny himself, take up the cross, and follow me.” (MATTHEW 16:24) There is a path that God has set for your life––a path that will allow you to be shaped and fashioned unto the measure of the statue of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). It is up to you alone to decide to turn from your previous path, take up the cross, and walk with Him. Elder Shannon Fitzgerald Thomas used to lean on his own understanding and seek the pleasures of the physical world. But then God illuminated his true purpose: to share the good news and spread the gospel to all His people. God made his purpose clear and guided him from his former life of sin and showed him into the way of His light. He now presses toward the mark for the High Calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14). You too have a path set before you; you can walk with Christ and live in truth and goodness. In A Higher Calling: Moving Forward in Your Walk With God, Elder Shannon Fitzgerald Thomas reveals the guidance God has instilled in him to share with the world so that all of God’s children might once again hear His voice and continue their walk with Him. He is waiting for you; follow Him.

Description: A revolution has been taking place in the ranks of higher education. University and college presidents—once almost invariably the products of "traditional" scholarly, tenure-track career paths, up through the provost’s office—are rapidly becoming a group with diverse skills and backgrounds. The same is true for many deans and administrative leaders. In Higher Calling: The Rise of Nontraditional Leaders in Academia, Scott C. Beardsley, dean of the University of Virginia’s prestigious Darden School of Business, offers a new vision of leadership for today’s higher education. Grounded in the author’s own inspirational story of leaving McKinsey & Company in pursuit of a new source of meaning in his professional life, Higher Calling employs research gathered from search firm executives who now play king or queen maker in presidential and dean searches. It also takes into account information from U.S. liberal arts colleges—considered by many to be the bellwethers of change—to explore what set of strengths an institution of higher education needs in a leader in the twenty-first century. Beardsley explores the widely varying definitions and associated numbers of traditional and nontraditional leaders and asks, Why are U.S. colleges and universities hiring nontraditional candidates to lead them into the future? How are the skills required to lead higher education institutions changing? Or has the search process changed, resulting in a more diverse set of candidates? Providing not only an analysis of nontraditional leaders in higher education but also strategies for developing skills and selecting leaders, Beardsley offers a wealth of information for the modern university in the face of change.

Description: Baptist preacher, London Wingo, first introduced in The Gauntlet, returns to Linden, Missouri after a twenty year absence to face what is to be the greatest crisis in his ministerial and parental career. London and his wife, Kathie, had built a church in Linden, Missouri where they faced the trials and triumphs of a first ministry. When Kathie died, however, London accepted a position in Kansas City, and departed abruptly with his his baby daughter. London left Linden as a young widower ― stunned, helpless and alone ― but returns as man in his prime ― successful, passionate about his calling, and the loving father of a beloved, spirited daughter ― ready to leave the big leagues for the minors and address the sorrows he left behind. London looks forward to the challenge of organizing a new church and to writing a biography of Roger Williams, a project he has been planning for years. But, most of all, he believes in the mystic properties of farms and small towns and hopes that his daughter, a free soul who doesn't quite fit anywhere, will discover a way to find herself. London succeeds at first in quieting the dissident elements in his ministry by placing the critics in important positions in the church hierarchy. But Paige becomes interested in Vance Andrews who is engaged to the daughter of one of London's most powerful enemies and London fears trouble is ahead. As London faces this crisis, his faith is bulwarked by a woman who encourages and helps him with his parish problems ― Forrest Roberts, a woman of understanding and keen awareness; a woman who sparks the promise of new love. The High Calling is a warm, moving novel which, through its insights into the career of a Baptist preacher, succeeds in many ways to do for the Protestant minister what The Cardinal did for the Catholic priest. Yet perhaps this exciting, dramatic sequel to The Gauntlet is most distinguished for its portrayal of London Wingo, who comes through as a very human, sympathetic character, more mature and wiser than in his younger days.

Description: NATIONAL BESTSELLER • ECPA BESTSELLER • The husband and wife behind the popular Earls Family Vlogs share their inspiring love story of how an expedition to climb Mount Everest deepened their faith, strengthened their commitment, and sharpened their vision to make a difference in the world. As a senior at West Point, Harold Earls dreamed of summiting Mount Everest after graduation and bringing awareness to the issue of PTSD in soldiers and veterans. But as a novice mountain climber and newlywed, could he really leave his wife, Rachel, on the other side of the world to pursue such a dangerous quest? After all, Rachel’s dream was to be a wife and mother. She knew that her husband’s audacious goal might lead to her to give up everything. A Higher Calling takes us on a beautiful journey through the ups and downs of their relationship, from their unlikely introduction and whirlwind romance to their fairy-tale wedding and the dreams they shared. Dreams that required tremendous sacrifice and faith—in each other and in God. As their dreams are realized, witness how Harold and Rachel used their powerful bond of love to overcome obstacles and learn that life is about doing versus having, serving versus getting, being versus wanting. A Higher Calling shows each of us that when God’s purpose and our passion meet, we can transcend any sacrifice we make on the mountains of adversity. And as we approach life with an attitude of thanksgiving, we realize that being joyful and living in love is worth it. Every time.

Description: This book is about my life: the struggles, trials and tribulations of a cancer patient. This book is also about my family and their trials and tribulations. I have been through 31 surgeries and still counting. I have lost two kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra, female organs and now a lung. I am told by every doctor that sees me that there is no way that I should be alive. This book has been a cleansing for me. I wrote it because everyone told me I should write a book because it would inspire cancer patients and it was so unbelievable. There are many people in my life that have inspired me to carry on. I think that I have a knack for turning lemons into lemonade. Never let things get you down. There are always people out there that have it worse than you do. I always try to pick myself up and carry on. There are many people that need me out there and I need them as well. Last but not least, I am slowly learning to listen to God not just hear him. I hope that in these pages you will find solace.
